Reiki

Reiki is a form of spiritual practice, which is used as a complementary therapy, for the mind, body and spirit, seeking to create a balance within the patient and encourage the body to heal itself.

Reiki was developed in the early 20th century in Japan.

Reiki teachings state that there is a universal ‘life force’ energy, which can be accessed by Reiki practitioners to induce a healing effect.

The belief is that the energy will flow through the practitioner’s hands whenever the hands are placed on, or held near a potential recipient, who can be clothed.
